Metro rail resumes operation, carrying meat prohibited

DMTCL has also announced new restrictions for passengers, particularly in light of Eid celebrations. From Sunday, carrying raw or cooked meat as well as sacrificial animal hides on metro trains is strictly prohibited.
In a notice issued signed by DMTCL’s Director (Administration), AKM Khairul Alam on June 3, the company emphasized that the decision was made to ensure passenger safety and maintain cleanliness across all stations.
Security measures have been heightened. Passengers will undergo checks at station entrances, and anyone found carrying prohibited items will be denied entry. All metro stations have been directed to enforce these rules strictly through on-site security personnel.
Metro authorities have urged all passengers to remain alert, follow the guidelines, and cooperate with staff to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience.
Metro services will follow the holiday schedule starting tomorrow, Monday (June 9).
