Bangladesh PM Hasina opens COVID-19 vaccination programme

Online Desk: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday inaugurated the country’s Covid-19 vaccination programme at Kurmitola General Hospital.
The Premier inaugurated the programme from Ganobhaban in the afternoon through videoconferencing.
Five government employees received the vaccine at the inaugural programme.
Runu Veronica Costa, a senior nurse of the hospital is the first vaccine recipient.
The four other vaccine takers are Dr Ahmed Lutful Moben, a doctor of the hospital; Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the health directorate; Md Didarul Alam, a traffic police of Motijheel Zone; and Brigadier General M Imran Hamid of Bangladesh Army.
