Man held over raping woman gluing her eyes

Bangladesh desk:  Police arrested a man for his alleged involvement in a gang-rape of a woman at Rauli village in Khulna’s Paikgachha upazila on Tuesday night.

The arrestee was Samad.

Officer-in-Charge (OC)  of Paikgachha Police Station Obaidur Rahman said police arrested the man for questioning over suspicion of involvement in the case.

Earlier, husband of the victim as a plaintiff filed a case on the night of the incident.

The victim’s daughter said that her mother has been talking since morning but cannot recall anything about the incident. Investigations into the case are ongoing.

On Sunday night (February 11) some unidentified men entered the bedroom of a woman breaking the door of the stairs at Rauli village in Paikgachha upazila of Khulna.

Later, they tied the hands and feet of the housewife, used glue on her eyes and covered her mouth with tape and violated her.  The rapists also hit her.

The victim’s son alleged that the miscreants looted a pair of gold earrings and approximately Tk 2 lakh.
