Russia, Spain condemn US missile strikes on Iran

Russia and Spain have strongly condemned the recent US missile strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, calling the attack a violation of international law and a threat to regional stability.

In a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Moscow described the strike as an “irresponsible decision” and a “clear violation” of international law, the UN Charter, and relevant Security Council resolutions. “No justification can legitimize missile and bomb attacks on the territory of a sovereign state,” the statement read.

Russia urged an immediate end to the aggression and emphasized the need to restore conditions conducive to political and diplomatic engagement.

Meanwhile, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares Bueno expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions in an interview with state broadcaster RTVE.

“There is no military solution that will bring peace and stability to the Middle East. Diplomacy is the only path forward,” he said, urging all parties to return to the negotiating table.

In response to the developments, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that he will travel to Moscow on Monday for an emergency visit.

He is expected to hold high-level talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the US strikes and their broader implications for the region.
