Bangladesh desk: Three people have been arrested in connection with the killing of Jahidul Islam Parvez, a third-year student of Primeasia University, in the capital’s Banani area.
The arrests were made early Monday from different parts of Dhaka, Banani Police Station inspector AKM Moinuddin confirmed.
The arrested three are Al Kamal Sheikh, 19, Alvi Hasan Zunayed, 19, and Al Amin Dani, 19. But they are not named in the FIR.
Police said CCTV footage confirmed their presence at the crime scene.
The arrested three will be produce in the court and police will sought remand to find out who was involved in the murder and what led to the murder.
Jahidul, 24, a student of the textile engineering department, was stabbed to death around 4:40PM on Saturday, hours after a brief altercation near the university premises centering a female issue.
The victim’s cousin, Humayun Kabir, lodged the case at Banani Police Station early Sunday where eight students of the university, including Mahathi, Meherab, and Abuzar from the Law and English departments, have been named as primary accused.
