SC upholds govt decision of running schools in Ramadan

Online desk: The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a government decision for running schools in the month of Ramadan.
A five-judge bench, chaired by chief justice Obaidul Hassan, stayed the High Court decision that halted the government order for keeping all the primary and secondary schools across the country open in the month of Ramadan.
The government on Monday appealed against and the High Court decision, and the Appellate Division chamber judge M Enayetur Rahim posted the government appeal for hearing on Tuesday.
Government on February 11 decided to keep open the high schools till Ramadan 15 and primary schools till Ramadan 10.
The government took the decision of keeping schools open after amending its earlier decision of closing the schools during Ramadan.
